Prevention of fatty liver disease
(Baonghean) Most people with fatty liver disease find it difficult to recognize the abnormal symptoms of the body. Usually the disease is only detected when the patient undergoes blood tests, ultrasound or CT scan. Or only when the rate of fat deposition in the liver occurs quickly, the liver capsule is stretched and the patient may feel pain or heaviness in the liver area. In a few cases, patients with fatty liver may have symptoms such as jaundice, nausea and vomiting. The disease is more common in men.
The main causes of the disease are: excess weight; drinking too much alcohol; people with a history of diabetes; protein malnutrition, losing weight too quickly; using drugs that are toxic to the liver; lack of exercise.
Fatty liver disease is completely preventable or can be improved in the following ways:
- Spend 30 minutes doing aerobics every day, if possible, the practice time can be increased to 1 hour, which is even better.
- Reduce eating foods rich in cholesterol such as animal organs, skin, egg yolks.
- Limit fat, prioritize vegetable oils (except coconut oil), limit animal fats (except fish fat).
- Don't drink alcohol.
- You should not eat foods that contain a lot of protein.
- Eat more green vegetables and fruits.
- Measure blood sugar regularly.
- Avoid using drugs that are harmful to the liver.
- Increase foods such as soybean oil, peas, tomatoes, yellow peppers, celery, garlic, lemons, oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, ripe apples...
Fatty liver disease, if not detected and treated promptly, will develop into dangerous cirrhosis, because then the liver will not be able to perform its role of removing toxins from the blood.
