January 14, 2013 18:39

My daughter is 3 years old and often has weather allergies when it's cold. Symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, followed by thick runny nose and cough.

Please advise on prevention and care to prevent disease for my child.

In the cold winter, not only children but also adults have reduced resistance, so they are susceptible to respiratory infections and allergies. However, we can use appropriate care and disease prevention measures to limit the risk of disease.

Preventive measures your child should take are: wear a mask when going out; always keep the throat warm by wearing warm clothes and a warm scarf; maintain oral hygiene by regularly brushing teeth after every meal and before bed; avoid exposing your child to factors that can cause allergies such as dog and cat hair, pollen, dust, strange smells, mold...

You can clean your baby's nose daily by using nasal cleaning solutions containing saline, antiseptics, etc. There are many types of medicine on the market, so you should choose products with added minerals such as copper and zinc to help prevent your baby's nose more effectively.

A diet full of nutrients: protein, sugar, fat, vitamins and minerals is very important to maintain and improve your child's health. When your child has sneezing, runny nose, fever, cough... you need to take your child to see a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
