Classroom collapsed, 10 students injured

At around 5:00 p.m. on August 26, a classroom floor at Dong Da Secondary and High School, Da Lat City (Lam Dong), suddenly collapsed while 10 students were studying, causing all of them to fall down.

At that time, 10 students of class 6A4 were preparing to leave school when the floor of the classroom made a loud noise and suddenly collapsed onto the computer room below.

All injured students were quickly transferred by the school to Lam Dong General Hospital for emergency treatment in a state of multiple injuries, including 3 students with head injuries but not life-threatening.

At the scene, this classroom has an area of ​​nearly 20 square meters, the floor is made of wood, covered with ceramic tiles on the surface after being covered with concrete. The building where the incident occurred was built decades ago. Some broken wooden bars were exposed, showing signs of rot. The collapse also damaged many computers in the computer room below.

Immediately after the incident, Da Lat City Police were present to block off the scene to serve the investigation and determine the cause.

Mr. Doan Van Viet, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of Da Lat City People's Committee and functional agencies, visited, encouraged and supported each student injured due to the classroom floor collapse with 5 million VND.
