Cataract prevention
(Baonghean)- To prevent cataracts, note:
- Stop smoking.
- Eat plenty of lentils, onions, garlic, spinach, cabbage, bean sprouts, beans and fresh seeds.
- Do not eat algae, sea plants, shellfish, low-fat dairy products, chocolate, industrial chicken... because these are sources of vanadium which is toxic to the eyes.
- Test for lead or mercury poisoning? Detect and treat hypothyroidism, diabetes, fluid and electrolyte disorders, hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia.
- Deworming and liver detoxification every 16 months.
- Do not expose directly to UV rays.
- If you work in an air-conditioned room, you should take time to rest your eyes. Every hour, you should close your eyes for about 2 minutes and go outside to breathe fresh air. There should be green plants in the office to filter the air. In China, office workers, teachers and students must take time to relax their eyes ("exercise" for their eyes) at 10am and 3pm.
