Phong Nha - Ke Bang is the only representative of Vietnam to be honored as "Best Tangible Heritage of 2015" by the Mekong Subregion International Tourism Association.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Loi, Director of Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Center, the above honor is within the framework of the Mekong Tourism Alliance Awards, presented by the Mekong Subregion International Tourism Association to the best travel companies, hotels, resorts, airlines, and heritage sites of the year... The award is meant to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements and contributions of businesses in the tourism industry in the Mekong subregion, while also motivating businesses to strive for even greater achievements.
Phong Nha - Ke Bang World Natural Heritage is known for its magnificent and majestic cave system with geological, geomorphological and ecological values that are diverse and rich, rarely found anywhere else. This heritage is currently one of the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia; in which, Phong Nha-Tien Son Cave, Son Doong Cave, Thien Duong Cave, and Dark Cave of this heritage are familiar addresses that tourists who love adventure especially aim for.
Along with good management and conservation, in recent years, Quang Binh province has advocated exploiting heritage in a sustainable manner, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
