Awarding the title of People's Armed Forces Hero to 14 Truong Bon Youth Volunteers

On September 23, 2008, commemorating the 40th anniversary of Truong Bon victory (October 31, 1968 - October 31, 2008), the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1304/QD-CTN, conferring the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to a group of 14 Truong Bon Youth Volunteers, Company 317, Team 65 - General Youth Volunteer Team against America to save the country in Nghe An province.

This is the recognition of the Party and State for the great contributions and heroic sacrifices of the Nghe An Youth Volunteer Force in general and of the 14 Truong Bon Youth Volunteers in particular in the cause of fighting against the US to save the country; it is the honor and gratitude of the entire Party, the entire people, especially the Party Committee and people of Nghe An for the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.
