Last night, January 14, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Farmers' Association, and PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) under the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group jointly organized the award ceremony for the 2012 writing contest on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.

(Baonghean.vn) -Last night, January 14, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Farmers' Association, and PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) under the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group jointly organized the award ceremony for the 2012 writing contest on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.

Attending the award ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu; Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vu Ngoc Hoang; Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Thuan Huu; and representatives of leaders of central ministries, departments, branches, and press agencies.



Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh presented awards to the authors who won A prizes.

After 7 months of launching, the Organizing Committee of the contest has received the participation of many people from all walks of life. Among more than 300 entries from many groups of authors, nearly 80 works have been used in the publications of Nhan Dan Daily Newspaper, and the Organizing Committee has judged and selected 19 works for the final round. Including 1 A prize, 3 B prizes; 5 C prizes and 10 consolation prizes.



Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vu Ngoc Hoang awarded the C prize to the authors.

Author Thanh Phuc, Nghe An Newspaper won the C prize with the work “The man who spends his life looking for fish”. The work is about Professor Nguyen Thai Tu, former lecturer at Vinh University - the man who found names for fish with the work “Vietnamese zoology and Vietnamese flora, Red book and Red list of Vietnam” which was awarded the Ho Chi Minh prize in 2012; about the fishermen who helped and gave strange fish species to Professor Tu for research and the role of fishermen in exploiting and protecting aquatic resources.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh requested Nhan Dan Newspaper, information agencies and press to closely coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to promote propaganda work, innovate ways of expression and information forms, expand the distribution network so that the Party and State's policies and guidelines in general, the Party and State's policies and guidelines on agriculture, farmers and rural areas in particular, advanced models and valuable experiences in developing agricultural production and rural construction can promptly reach people nationwide.
