The announcement of the contest's Organizing Committee said that Vo Thu Giang ranked 5th out of 15 best contestants who entered the final round.
The “2019 English Olympic Competition for Young Officials” is organized by the Central Youth Union in collaboration with the AMES International English System. This activity aims to create a healthy playground, arouse the spirit of learning, practicing English and supporting international integration skills for the Youth Union staff, young civil servants, public employees, businesses and armed forces nationwide.
The contest aims to concretize the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2017 - 2022; deploy the 2019 contents of the Project to improve English proficiency for Vietnamese youth in the period 2018 - 2022.

In round 1, 25,000 candidates took part in the online competition on the website and mobile application called My AI English to select the 80 best candidates for round 2. At the end of the first round, Thu Giang was one of two candidates from Nghe An province to make it into the top 80.
In round 2, contestants must demonstrate their abilities with a 5-minute clip on the topics of history, politics, socio-economics, and culture of Vietnam; President Ho Chi Minh, his will and Ho Chi Minh's ideology; the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and ASEAN member countries; general knowledge about the international and regional situation, international integration; the history of formation and development of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Vietnam Student Association and other youth organizations...
