Single women have the right to have children by in vitro fertilization
According to the provisions of Decree No. 10/2015/ND-CP recently issued by the Government, single women and infertile couples have the right to give birth using in vitro fertilization as prescribed by a specialist.

The Decree clearly stipulates that sperm donation and receipt, embryo donation and receipt must be carried out on the principle of anonymity between the donor and the recipient; the donor's sperm and embryo must be coded to ensure confidentiality but must still clearly state the characteristics of the donor, especially the racial factor.
According to regulations, sperm and egg donors must be examined and tested to determine: They do not have genetic diseases that affect the next generation; they do not have mental illness or other diseases that make them unable to perceive or control their behavior; and they are not infected with HIV.
Voluntary donors must donate sperm and eggs and only donate at a medical examination and treatment facility recognized by the Ministry of Health to perform in vitro fertilization techniques.
Medical examination and treatment facilities are not allowed to provide the name, age, address and image of the sperm donor. The donor's sperm and eggs can only be used for one person, and only if the birth is not successful can they be used for another person. In case of successful birth, the unused sperm and eggs must be destroyed or donated to a scientific research facility.
The egg recipient must be Vietnamese or of Vietnamese origin and be the wife in a couple undergoing infertility treatment where the cause of infertility is that the wife has no eggs or the eggs are not of sufficient quality to conceive.
According to the Decree, the embryo recipient must be in one of the following cases: The wife in a couple undergoing infertility treatment where the cause of infertility is due to both the wife and the husband; The wife in a couple undergoing infertility treatment where the couple has undergone in vitro fertilization but failed, except in the case of surrogacy; Single women without eggs or eggs that are not of sufficient quality to conceive.
Sperm, egg, and embryo recipients must be healthy enough to undergo in vitro fertilization, become pregnant, and give birth; must not have sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, or infectious diseases of groups A and B; must not have genetic diseases that could affect future generations...
According to regulations, medical examination and treatment facilities are not allowed to provide the name, age, address and image of the sperm or embryo recipient.
