Quynh Luu women continue to protest against priest Dang Huu Nam

(Baonghean.vn) - In the face of preaching that distorts history, denies revolutionary achievements, and defames the victory of April 30, 1975, women in Quynh Luu district continue to organize protests, requesting that priest Dang Huu Nam be strictly punished before the law.

On the morning of May 9, more than 400 women from Quynh Luong commune, Quynh Luu district participated in a rally to protest against priest Dang Huu Nam.

Women's Union members of Quynh Luong commune emphasized: to achieve the great victory of Spring on April 30, 1975, to unify the country, millions of soldiers had to sacrifice their blood and lives on all battlefields. However, priest Dang Huu Nam deliberately slandered and denied this achievement.

Ms. Vu Thi Chat - Member of Women's Association of Village 5 indignantly said: We cannot let priest Nam disguised as a monk continue to be at large. Therefore, members of the organization need to unite and unanimously support the competent authorities to arrest and prosecute this subject according to the law.

Ms. Chat expressed: Everyone believes that if Nam is arrested, the security and order situation in Phu Yen parish, An Hoa commune, Song Ngoc parish, Quynh Ngoc commune and Quynh Luu district will stabilize again, people will regain their spirit and feel secure in developing the economy.

Ms. Ho Thi Hoai, a member of the Women's Association of Village 3, emphasized: In an independent and free country like today, no words or actions can repay the merits of those who have fallen or those who sacrificed a part of their flesh and blood to bring peace to the Fatherland.

Yet priest Dang Huu Nam has made distorted arguments that are unworthy of a person in the country of Vietnam; therefore, Ms. Hoai requested that the competent authorities urgently arrest priest Nam and severely punish him appropriately in front of all the people.

Ms. Truong Thi Tuyet, Women's Association of Village 5, clearly stated: Dang Huu Nam's actions and words are against the ethics of a priest; they divide the great solidarity, and discriminate between Catholics and non-Catholics.

Ms. Tuyet suggested that the State should strictly handle Dang Huu Nam to pay the appropriate price for his actions and words that distort history and insult the people, especially those and families who have contributed to the revolution.

At the protest, all 400 women's union members of Quynh Luong commune repeatedly shouted slogans: "Long live the Communist Party of Vietnam"; "Down with priest Dang Huu Nam"; at the same time, they highly agreed with the Resolution requesting the law to strictly handle Dang Huu Nam to set an example for other priests who have thoughts of opposing our Party and State./.
