Vietnamese women "Confident - Self-respecting - Loyal - Responsible"

(Baonghean.vn) - Tomorrow morning - March 12, 2012, in Hanoi capital, nearly 800 official delegates representing tens of millions of cadres and women members representing the strength and will to rise of all classes of Vietnamese women from all regions of the country will attend the 11th National Women's Congress, term 2012-2017.

Promoting the tradition of "Heroic, indomitable, loyal, and courageous" of Vietnamese women, through women's congresses nationwide and in the province, we have responded to and expanded the emulation movements "New women build and protect the Fatherland", "Women help each other with family economy" and "Raising good children, contributing to reducing malnutrition and school dropouts", "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families" associated with the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example".

During the years of innovation, the Vietnam Women's Union in general and the Nghe An Women's Union in particular have set out directions, tasks, goals, key work programs and campaigns, emulation movements that have met the requirements, aspirations and sentiments and have become vibrant revolutionary actions of all classes of women, contributing their efforts with the entire people to carry out the Party's innovation, build and protect the socialist Fatherland, and firmly step forward in the process of integration and development. In the past term, the Union at all levels focused on implementing Resolution 11 of the Politburo - 10th tenure on Women's work in the period of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country. Although the country's socio-economic conditions faced many difficulties, the women's movement and Union work in the country and in the province were still maintained and developed.

During the past term, Nghe An women successfully completed the targets set by the 13th Women's Congress such as: 100% of cadres, 95% of members, 65% of women participated in studying and registering to implement the standards of the movement, of which 100% of cadres, 72% of members and 50% of women met the standards, 90% of poor households headed by women were helped with more than 15,000 households, the rate of membership reached 68%, an increase of 5% compared to the beginning of the term.

17 Nghe An women delegates representing nearly 500,000 members in the province attending this Congress have the opportunity to grasp the 6 key tasks of the new term and widely deploy the emulation movement in the period 2012-2017. That is, continue to promote the patriotic emulation movement, Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families; Campaign to build 5 no, 3 clean families associated with concretizing the criteria for building new rural areas; Campaign for Women nationwide to practice the moral qualities of "Confidence - Self-respect - Loyalty - Responsibility"; Continue to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.

Resolution No. 11 of the Politburo - 10th tenure sets the goal: "By 2020, women will have improved qualifications in all aspects, have education, expertise, and skills, meeting the requirements of industrialization, modernization, and international economic integration; have jobs, and have significantly improved material, cultural, and spiritual life; participate more and more in social work, equality in all fields; and make greater and greater contributions to society and family. Strive for our country to be one of the countries with the most progressive gender equality achievements in the region". Resolution of the 11th Party Congress also clearly stated "Create conditions for women to participate in studying and training to improve their qualifications, meeting the requirements of work and tasks". And the draft Political Report of the 11th National Women's Congress identified the goal: "Unite and mobilize women to promote their internal strength, proactively and actively participate in socio-economic development and national defense; build happy and sustainable families; improve women's material and spiritual lives. Build Vietnamese women who are patriotic, healthy, knowledgeable, have professional skills, are dynamic, creative, have a cultured lifestyle, and are kind. Build a strong Women's Union organization, fully promote its core role in women's work and implement gender equality."

To successfully implement the Party's resolutions and the goals set out by the congress, in the new period, each cadre and women's union member must promote the traditions and good qualities of Vietnamese women and women of Nghe An; strive constantly to successfully implement the socio-economic goals of the country and the province, actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the province, making Nghe An basically an industrial province by 2020, a well-off province of the North as Uncle Ho always wished.
