"Renaissance" of vintage style in Fall Winter fashion

September 23, 2015 21:14

Rekindled in the Fall/Winter 2015 collections of Céline, Prada and Burberry, the 70s fashion trend is sure to continue to have a strong influence on style in the coming months.

If you love the inspiration of these romantic, airy years, you probably bought yourself a lot of clothes and accessories in true 70s style since Spring Summer.

When it comes to Fall, transitioning into your wardrobe won’t be too difficult. There are a few items you’ll need to buy new, but they’re pretty basic, so you’re likely to be able to wear them well into next Fall.

1. Whole denim

Denim is one of the signature materials of the 70s fashion style. This past Spring and Summer, denim dresses and overalls were very popular.

But on cool days in early fall, change into a separate denim outfit, the simplest is to combine a chambray shirt (denim colored fabric) with jeans.

If the weather is nice, you can also choose to wear wide-leg jeans with a sexy, youthful denim crop top.

On windy days, a full set of jeans and a denim jacket will make you stand out and look stylish.

If you don't feel really comfortable with the whole "blue body" outfit, you can wear a dark colored shirt or add a black belt to "adjust" it.

2. Wear a suede jacket

As predicted from the end of last year, Fall 2015 marked the "reign" of suede jackets bearing the mark of 70s fashion.

You can flexibly combine suede jackets with more modern outfits or "stay loyal" to a nostalgic look when combined with a denim shirt or a full denim outfit.

You can also wear a suede jacket with a black skirt or top, creating a warmer and neater feeling.

Avoid choosing long coats, only choose a coat that is just past the hips to keep it simple, helping to prolong the trendy period of this outfit.

3. Thin scarf

Long, slender scarves are one of the accessories mentioned in many fashion magazines at the moment.

The grace and lightness of this scarf style makes it easy to combine with all types of outfits, even on hot or cold days, without creating a heavy feeling.

The proper way to tie a scarf in the 70s style is to tie a loose knot on one side, leaving the tail of the scarf hanging long, but you can also freely tie the tail of the scarf in the middle or loop it around your neck so that the two ends are parallel.

4. Standing dress

Thick, easy-to-hold materials like suede, thick velvet and faux leather will create dresses with a true 70s feel.

Choose bold, warm tones like red, orange-brown or orange-yellow, combined with black or earthy brown for a classic, warm look.

You’ll definitely want to wait until a slightly cooler day to wear this dress. Pair it with your favorite pair of boots, be it ankle or knee boots!

5. Patchwork details

The slightly sloppy patchwork details are the details that represent the free and liberal nomadic spirit of the 70s.

If you don't want to dress too fussy, you can choose a patchwork-like color block style, rather than a real patchwork.

If you are a true traveler, you can make your own unique patchwork outfits.

The most unique patchwork style is denim. You can use leftover fabric to patch your jeans, or use a different shade of denim to patch up an old denim jacket.

6. Wide-brimmed felt hat

The straw hats were replaced by wide-brimmed hats made of soft felt.

In addition to the most popular dark brown color, you now have the option of a wide-brimmed hat in a luxurious yet classic burgundy color.

There are no limits when it comes to choosing what to wear with a wide-brimmed hat, and you don't have to worry about whether it's raining or sunny.

Many times you simply wear a wide-brimmed hat to keep your hair from flying around or to cover up hair that hasn't been washed in a while.

7. Fringed vest

Actually, the fringe trend is no longer so popular for Fall Winter 2015.

But if you already have a fringe vest from Spring Summer, you can still use it throughout this Fall Winter in a new way.

Try to tone down the fringes by pairing them with a simple black or white outfit, and keep the accessories to a minimum!

8. Gold pendant

A necklace with a gold-plated or solid gold pendant will add a luxurious touch to your outfit.

Gold necklaces pop against black outfits, so you can easily create a 70s vibe without having to buy a lot of elaborate outfits.

Pair a long necklace with a low-cut or wide-neck top, and choose a short necklace with a turtleneck to create symmetry and stand out./.
