Phuoc Tu says goodbye to Vietnam team after losing to Malaysia
After the 2-4 loss to Malaysia at My Dinh, Phuoc Tu met with coach Toshiya Miura and the coaching staff of the Vietnamese team to express his wish to leave the national team, citing the reason that he is no longer young (30 years old).

The heavy 2-4 loss to Malaysia has raised many doubts about the Vietnamese team, especially the defense. Defenders Que Ngoc Hai, Van Bien, Tien Thanh and goalkeeper Nguyen Manh had a poor performance, continuously making mistakes.
Phuoc Tu was also judged to have played poorly. He did not direct the defense effectively, did not cover his teammates well, and was not present in the necessary positions in dangerous situations. This was in stark contrast to the performance of the players in the first leg at Shah Alam Stadium.
Speaking to a newspaper, Phuoc Tu said he felt very sad because the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) doubted him. He said he would focus on playing for the B.Binh Duong Club and would retire from the national team.
Not long ago, Phuoc Tu was also suspected of match-fixing when the case occurred at The Vissai Ninh Binh Club. However, the investigation results later showed that there was no basis to conclude that this central defender was negative.
The former The Cong player (old) is one of the best central defenders in Vietnamese football in recent years. He once set a record when he joined Sai Gon Xuan Thanh with a record "bribe" of up to 14 billion VND. Regarding his personal life, Phuoc Tu has not caused many incidents like other Vietnamese football "stars".
