(Baonghean) - Although the deadline set by the Ministry of Education and Training for announcing the 2015 enrollment plan expires on January 1, 2015, many schools have already completed their plans; thereby, creating favorable conditions for students to be more proactive in choosing exam blocks and planning their review.

According to the plan proposed in the 2015 National Examination, candidates will only have to take the exam once and the results will be used to consider graduation recognition, and at the same time provide data for higher education institutions to use as a basis for university and college admissions. Each candidate must take 4 subjects (called minimum subjects) including: 3 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 subject of the candidate's choice among the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Geography. In addition to the 4 subjects mentioned above, candidates have the right to register for the remaining subjects of the exam to be used for university and college admissions according to the requirements of the training programs specified by each university and college in the school's admission plan.

When there is information about changes in the admission plan, what attracts the attention of schools and students is whether in the new admission plan, the schools will change the admission subjects compared to the exam blocks of the previous school year or add admission subjects. However, with the admission plans that universities have recently announced, it can be seen that there are no sudden changes. If there are, they will only add admission subjects so that candidates have more opportunities to register and choose. Specifically, at Vinh University, in the 2015 university and college entrance exam, the school will have 5,150 targets for 43 majors and all will be considered for admission based on the results of the National High School Exam.

The 2015 enrollment plan of Vinh University has a remarkable new point, which is that the school has added many new exam blocks and subject combinations suitable for the training characteristics of each major, in line with the trend of integrated education, including adding English to most exam subject combinations. For example, some majors that have previously only recruited one exam block, which is block A (Math, Physics, Chemistry), such as: Construction Engineering; Traffic Construction Engineering; Electronic and Communications Engineering, now have additional exam blocks of Math, Physics, English..., and pedagogical majors such as: Math, Chemistry, Biology... have added English to the admission exam to replace one of the subjects Chemistry, Physics if candidates do not register according to the traditional blocks.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh - Head of Training Department, Vinh University affirmed: "The school's introduction of many exam blocks in the 2015 admission season will help candidates have more opportunities to choose. Basically, the admission blocks will not change much. Therefore, during the exam preparation process, candidates should not be confused but confidently review the subjects they have chosen before. In addition, candidates need to note that for some specific majors, such as Vietnamese Studies (specializing in Tourism), Social Work and Pedagogy, candidates will only be admitted to candidates with a balanced body shape, without deformities or disabilities. For pedagogical training majors, in addition to the results of the National High School Exam, candidates must have a conduct record of 3 years of high school of Good or higher. Preschool Education and Physical Education majors will have to take an additional aptitude test according to the Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

As for Vinh Medical University, in order to avoid confusion and confusion for students, in the 2015 university and college entrance exam, the school will not organize a separate exam but will use the results of the general National High School Exam and will continue to enroll students according to the traditional exam blocks as in 2014 and before (Block B: Math, Chemistry, Biology). Similarly, at Nghe An University of Economics, although the specific plan has not been announced, the school has also developed a plan to wait for the Ministry of Education and Training to approve. It is expected that in the next admission period, the school will develop 2 plans with 2 forms of admission: Admission based on the national high school exam and considering the transcripts of 3 semesters (grades 11 and 12), the exam subjects will not change. It is expected that for the university system, the average score of 3 subjects for admission will be from 6 points or higher and 5 points or higher for the college system. With this change, Mr. Hoang Hoa Que, Vice Principal of the school affirmed: The score that the school offers is an average level, creating conditions for many candidates, especially candidates from rural and mountainous areas.

The application of the common national exam has also had a significant impact on colleges located in the area during this year's enrollment season. According to the plan, Nghe An College of Culture and Arts, in addition to considering the same subject combinations as the traditional blocks of the school up to now, which are blocks A, A1, C, D1, the school will expand the consideration of subject combinations of Literature, Math, Geography. At the same time, the school will consider the 12th grade transcripts of Math, Literature, Geography for candidates who want to register for the Library, Cultural Management, and Tour Guide majors with an expected score of 15 points or more. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Duc - Head of the school's Training Department said: The new plan will create opportunities for both the school and the candidates, helping the school have more opportunities to choose candidates for admission. At the same time, it will help talented candidates have the opportunity to study at the school.

Thus, up to this point, along with nearly 80 universities and colleges nationwide, universities and colleges in the province have basically completed the entrance exam plan for the 2015 university and college entrance exam. This has really relieved the worries of candidates and schools, helping units to be more proactive in teaching and reviewing for students as well as helping them to orient and choose their exam subjects and majors. Considering the plans that schools have proposed, it can be seen that, compared to previous admission seasons, the fluctuations in exam subjects for admission are not much different. Or if there are any, it is only to add more exam subjects and admission forms to help candidates have more opportunities.

Accordingly, candidates will also have a lot of stress reduced in the upcoming exam. Because previously, if candidates took both exams, they had to take at least 7 rounds of exams (including 4 exams in the high school graduation exam and 3 university or college entrance exams); many candidates took 3 rounds of exams with 10 rounds of exams (including 4 exams in the high school graduation exam, 3 university entrance exams in the first round and 3 university entrance exams in the second round)... However, in the national high school exam, each candidate only had to take a minimum of 4 exams, a maximum of 8 exams and commonly 5 or 6 exams; for independent candidates (who graduated from high school before 2014), the number of exams was reduced. Therefore, the pressure of exams will be reduced, and parents will also save on exam costs...

It is important that before applying to colleges and universities, students need to consider carefully to choose a school and major that suits their abilities and capacities. The remaining schools are selecting and developing admission plans, especially lower-ranking schools or non-public schools, so they should also consider and not make admission plans too easy. Because that would be a “double-edged sword”, which can help the school in the first 1 or 2 years, but in the long run, it will affect the reputation and brand of the school.
