To achieve its current appearance, Hung Dung has built and effectively implemented socio-economic development projects in a synchronous and comprehensive manner. Thanks to that, the average annual economic growth rate reached 8.3%; average income was 35.2 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate was only 0.7%. Especially, the strong breakthrough of trade - services (increased from 62.4% at the beginning of the term to 67.9% at the end of the term), construction industry (accounting for 28.8%)...; promoting investment in urban infrastructure development, creating streets with a favorable environment for trade - services to stimulate households to develop the economy. In 2010, there were only 250 to 300 large and small business households in the area. It is estimated that by May 2015, there were about 717 stable service business households and over 200 irregular households, attracting over 1,000 workers. Hung Dung market in particular, after investment and expansion, is gradually asserting itself as the local commercial center.

Due to the urbanization process, in recent years, the area of ​​agricultural land has been increasingly narrowed. However, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the management and operation of the ward government, attention to investment, creating new dynamism, the estimated value of agricultural production by 2015 reached 14 billion VND, with the average rice yield reaching 5.5 tons/ha. Aiming for a balanced and comprehensive economic development, the trade and service sector is also considered a key industry in the economic development strategy of Hung Dung ward. From a regional market, Hung Dung market is now classified by the city as a type 2 market with 300 stable traders. Streets specializing in trading such as Nguyen Phong Sac with a variety of goods, creating a bustling economic face. The field of urban management and basic construction is a key task that the Party Committee and the ward government have focused on closely directing, bringing positive results. In 5 years, the ward has built over 45 large and small projects, with a total investment of nearly 90 billion VND, of which the people contributed nearly 7 billion VND. Completing a number of key projects such as: Nguyen Phong Sac, Ton That Tung, Phan Cong Tich streets and upgrading Nguyen Duy Trinh street... Renovating many internal roads, increasing the proportion of concrete and asphalt roads to 98%; building 2 new cultural houses, up to now 18/19 residential blocks have Cultural Houses attached to playgrounds and exercise grounds; Construct 4 new high-rise buildings to ensure enough classrooms and meet standards for students. Complete the installation of water supply pipes for people and some public lighting lines.
