Nghi Tan Ward (Cua Lo Town): Breakthrough development, improving people's lives

(Baonghean) - Implementing the Resolution of the Ward Party Congress for the 2010-2015 term, with the support and assistance of the province and Cua Lo Town, the efforts of the Party Committee and the consensus of the people, Nghi Tan Ward has completed the set targets and plans, creating positive changes in all aspects of economy and society.

During the term, the total production value of the ward reached 410.2 billion VND, an increase of 7.5%/year; the economic structure shifted positively; the average income per capita by June 2015 was estimated at 25.3 million VND (the target set by the congress was 25 - 26 million VND), 2.36 times higher than in 2010; the annual budget revenue always met the target assigned by the superiors. To achieve the above growth indicators, one of the driving forces is the trade and service economy, which has had an impressive growth of 16.9%/year; the whole ward currently has 18 hotels and motels serving tourist accommodation.

Regarding planning and construction, since the beginning of the term, the ward has invested in building 28 infrastructure works to serve people's lives such as schools, clinics, roads, drainage ditches, upgrading historical and revolutionary relics with a total budget of 24,569 billion VND; of which the state budget is 18,312 billion VND, the locality and people's contribution is 6,256 billion VND. Continue to strengthen the management of urban planning land; propagate and mobilize to raise people's awareness in maintaining environmental sanitation.

The Party Committee and the government lead, direct and orient the propaganda contents, policies and guidelines of the Party and the State; organize many cultural, artistic and sports activities in the ward and actively participate in activities organized by the town; build a healthy cultural beauty, a joyful and excited spirit among the people; pay attention to investing in education and training, school facilities and education quality have many positive changes; kindergartens and secondary schools are recognized as meeting national standards, primary schools are recognized as national level 2.

The ward also allocates resources to implement policies for people with meritorious services and support poverty reduction; gradually prevent and effectively combat evils related to national defense, security and social order; coordinate propaganda and dissemination of laws, guidelines and policies of the Party and State to cadres and people. Thereby limiting violations of security and social order and safety in the area.

Along with paying special attention to the work of government building and promoting the role of the Fatherland Front and people's organizations, the ward pays attention to the work of Party building, political and ideological education for cadres, party members and people; urging the ward People's Committee and departments, unions and blocs to implement the Resolution of the Ward People's Council and the legitimate recommendations of voters. The ward People's Committee closely follows the resolutions of the Party Committee and the Ward People's Council to develop programs and plans for implementation. The administrative reform has gradually become more orderly and has changed after the superiors increased the number of civil servants working in the ward. Compliance with working hours, sense of responsibility and spirit of serving the people have increasingly changed.

The Party Committee regularly disseminates and disseminates resolutions, directives, regulations and documents of all levels to cadres, party members and mass organizations, especially Resolution 4 of the Central Committee "Some urgent issues on Party building at present" and Directive 03-CT/TW on continuing to promote "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", Directive 17-CT on "Strengthening discipline and administrative discipline in agencies and units in the province"... During the term, the Ward Party Committee trained and recruited 39 new party members.

Based on the assessment of what has been done and what has not been done in the past term; at the same time, forecasting the difficulties and challenges, entering the new term 2015 - 2020, Nghi Tan Ward Party Committee is determined to mobilize all resources to invest in infrastructure construction, gradually building a green - clean - beautiful, rich and civilized ward; sustainable economic growth rate, economic structure shifting towards trade and services, labor export, exploitation, processing, aquaculture, small-scale industry and construction; exploiting all potentials and resources of the locality and mobilizing resources of all levels and sectors to invest in the construction of a number of works and projects... creating a breakthrough and strong change in the socio-economy, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. In the new term, the ward strives to achieve an average economic growth rate of 8.5 - 9%/year; Production value increased by 9-10% (reaching 646 billion VND), state budget revenue in the area increased by 5-7% annually; average income per capita by 2020 reached 45-50 million VND...

To realize the above targets, depending on each field and profession, the ward has plans, goals and solutions for implementation; at the same time, assign each cadre and related department to develop a project for implementation and supervision. In the spirit of "Solidarity, discipline, democracy, innovation", the Nghi Tan Party Congress for the 2015 - 2020 term will be given new motivation and spirit to make breakthroughs in development, successfully completing the set socio-economic goals and tasks.
