Methods to stimulate children's interest in learning
Most children do not like to study. What parents need to do instead of scolding and yelling at their children is to find ways to encourage them to become more interested in studying.
Most children don’t like to study (just like we did when we were kids). This is perfectly normal. Here are some tips from education experts to help parents encourage their children’s love of learning.
1. No nagging
Once you have eliminated distractions and created a pleasant learning environment, you may feel frustrated when your child still does not enjoy studying. However, parents should not nag or get angry with their child, but stop and try new approaches.
2. Create excitement to motivate children to learn
Encourage your child's desire to learn with small rewards. For example, encourage him to finish his homework with a ticket to his favorite movie or extra TV time.
Rewards for more complex subjects should be exciting programs such as going to the park on the weekend, buying a toy that the child has always wanted... This way, the child will gradually see learning as a game and no longer a boredom.
3. Inspiration
Many children do not understand history, math, chemistry, literature… you can help your children enjoy learning more by inspiring them through learning through play.
For example, interesting stories about historical figures, small chemical experiments that are not too dangerous. You can go to YouTube with your children to study illustrative examples of chemistry, physics or literature...
4. Try new ways of learning
Diligent note-taking and studying from these notes may work well for many children, but it may not be as exciting for your child. Try new ways of learning, such as summarizing the events in the lesson by drawing them, or using apps and online videos at home to allow your child to review the lesson more thoroughly.
Children may be too shy to ask questions, or too embarrassed to admit they don't know something, they may even hate their teachers. Online tutoring at home will remove these obstacles, and help your child grasp the material better.
5. Study in groups
Studying in groups is also a good way to learn and does not make children bored. You can organize a small group of close friends who have similar personalities. When studying, there should be an adult to supervise. After a lesson, you can let children relax and entertain themselves with games, enjoy some snacks, etc.
Having fun will help children feel less stressed about studying and they will not hate studying anymore. Many children will even enjoy and look forward to the next group homework session.
