(Baonghean.vn) - On May 20, in Na Loi commune (Ky Son district), the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Truong Thi ward (Vinh city) and Na Loi Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) held a ceremony to sign a bond of friendship and sponsorship between the two units.

Na Loi Border Guard Station is responsible for managing and protecting 8 km of the Vietnam - Laos border with 4 border markers, the terrain is mainly high, rugged mountains and forests, and the natural climate is harsh. In the area in charge of 2 border communes: Na Loi and Dooc May, (Ky Son), there are 677 households/3603 people of Mong, Thai and Kho Mu ethnic groups (of which Dooc May commune is 100% Mong).

Over the past time, the unit has closely coordinated with local Party committees, authorities and people in building, managing and protecting the border. However, with the natural conditions of mountains and hills, slow economic development and lack of infrastructure, the lives of soldiers and people here are still facing many difficulties.

The signing of the twinning program between the two units aims to enhance the emotional exchange between the rear and those who are guarding the outposts of the Fatherland; continue to carry out the movement "Towards the border" well among all classes of people; add confidence, create a combined strength for officers, soldiers and people in border areas in the work of managing, building and protecting the sovereignty of border areas, maintaining security, order and safety, and protecting the peace of the Fatherland.

At the ceremony, Truong Thi Ward presented Na Loi border post with a television so that officers and soldiers of the unit have more means to update news and enjoy spiritual culture.
