Solar panels "made in Vietnam"

With a high number of sunshine hours, Vietnam is one of the countries with great potential in applying solar energy products. However, due to high costs, solar battery products are difficult to popularize because solar battery projects often take a long time (up to 10 - 12 years) to recover investment capital.

Vietnam is a country with great potential in applying solar energy batteries.

Using solar batteries to collect energy for daily use or as a backup source during power outages is an optimal solution that is increasingly trusted and chosen by consumers in urban and rural areas without national grid electricity.

Mr. Diep Bao Canh - General Director of Red Solar Energy Company - said that the company is located at Lot C2, Duc Hoa Ha Industrial Park (Duc Hoa District, Long An Province). The company's main product is solar panels with a capacity of 3Wp - 280Wp. The solar power system using SIPV technology with a total capacity of 50.16 KWp installed at the Institute of Environment and Resources (Ho Chi Minh City National University) produces more than 70MWh per year. Another notable system is the solar power system serving the management of Can Gio mangrove forest. Including the installation of 1 KWP systems for 6 sub-stations, and 165 110Wp systems for forest protection households scattered throughout remote areas of Can Gio District. The retail price of the company's products has decreased from about 2 USD to 1.5 USD/W, creating conditions for those who need to use green energy sources.

To gradually reduce costs and "popularize" the scope of use of solar battery products, Bach Khoa Solar Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company has built a production line for some auxiliary equipment for solar batteries. Mr. Luu Ty - Executive Director of Bach Khoa Solar Energy Investment and Development Joint Stock Company in the North - said: By localizing about 70% of the equipment, the company completed the production line for auxiliary equipment for solar batteries in 2012. Therefore, solar battery products may be discounted by 50 - 70% compared to present. It is expected that each project will need about 5 - 7 years to recover the initial investment capital.

According to Mr. Luu Ty, from 2008 to now, the company has installed solar battery systems for 33 floating islands, 9 submerged islands and 14 platforms in Truong Sa. Up to now, solar battery products in Truong Sa have been proven to operate effectively. Every 6 months, technical staff go to the island to maintain and service the system. In addition to Truong Sa, the company also installed solar battery systems at Thanh Tam Specialized School (Da Nang) with a capacity of 10kW, Binh Duong Administrative Center (30kW), Green United Nations Building (Hanoi), with a capacity of 110kW and 415 solar panels. These projects have so far operated well and helped save energy effectively. Currently, the company is continuing to implement 3 solar battery installation projects in Da Nang, Hanoi and Binh Duong. The company's solar battery products have contributed to the shift from awareness to action to save energy, protect the environment, comply with the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy... to develop the economy and society towards green and sustainable growth.

The company was honored at the 2014 Green Product and Technology Awards.
