Putin wins record with more than 76% of the vote

(Baonghean.vn) - The Russian Central Election Commission said that after processing 89.44% of the votes, Mr. Putin is currently winning a record victory with 76.40% of the votes.

This rate not only overwhelmed the remaining candidates, but also far exceeded the results of the 2012 presidential election, when Mr. Putin won 63.7%, and in 2004 – 71.31%.

Candidate Pavel Grudinin came in second with 12.10% of the votes, in third place was candidate Vladimir Zhirinovsky with 5.87% of the votes. The results of the remaining candidates ranged from 0.63 to 1.42%.

Previously, according to a preliminary poll conducted by the All-Russian Research Center (VTsIOM) at polling stations with a high number of voters, candidate Vladimir Putin was winning a record victory with the number of votes ranging from 73.9% to 76.3%, candidate Grudinin won 11.2%, and candidate Zhirinovsky won 6.7% of the votes.

The Russian Central Election Commission said that as of 18:00 (Moscow time), the number of voters at polling stations reached 60%, higher than the 2012 presidential election.

Yesterday, March 18, 110.9 million Russian voters went to the polls to choose the country's leader for the next 6-year term. The first polling stations in the Russian Far East opened at 8:00 a.m. on March 18 (3:00 a.m. Hanoi time), and ended at 9:00 p.m. the same day (1:00 a.m. on March 19, Hanoi time) when the last polling station in Kaliningrad closed.
