Speaking to reporters, when asked whether President Putin intended to congratulate Mr. Zelensky on his inauguration as President of Ukraine and what the Kremlin thought about Mr. Zelensky's statement on the situation in Donbass and Crimea, Mr. Peskov stated: "President Putin will congratulate President Zelensky on the first success in resolving the internal conflict in southeastern Ukraine, as well as the first success in normalizing Russia-Ukraine relations. Regarding the crisis in Donbass, let me reiterate that this is an internal issue of Ukraine that the President of this country can and should resolve, mainly based on a clear plan outlined within the framework of the Minsk peace agreement."

The Kremlin representative also emphasized that the Crimean Peninsula is Russian territory and returning Crimea to Ukraine is impossible. Earlier the same day, after being sworn in, new Ukrainian President Zelensky announced that he would try to regain control of the Crimean Peninsula as well as the eastern region of Ukraine.
Russian President Dmitry Peskov's spokesman confirmed that accusations of Russia's involvement in cyber attacks against the US were unsubstantiated while Washington's involvement in cyber attacks against Russia was confirmed.
Mr. Peskov emphasized: "The Washington administration's involvement in cyber attacks has been confirmed. On the contrary, we have, are and will continue to affirm that the Russian state has no relations and has never had relations with any cyber criminals." Mr. Peskov stated as above when commenting on the statement of US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News that under his administration there was a cyber attack on Russia during the midterm elections in the fall of 2018. However, Mr. Peskov admitted that he did not have detailed information about this case.
