Putin is about to return to Vietnam

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will visit Vietnam next July, the information was given during Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's reception of the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister on April 25.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Deputy Minister A. Borodavkin discussed the results of the regular consultation meeting at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers of Vietnam and the Russian Federation and emphasized that the two countries will cooperate to organize the APEC Summit 2012 with priority topics such as trade liberalization, ensuring food security, modernizing transportation and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters...

The Prime Minister also noted preparations for Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's visit to Vietnam in July 2011. Mr. Putin had visited Vietnam in November 2006 to attend the APEC-14 Economic Leaders' Meeting as President of Russia.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is ready to cooperate with the Russian Federation in aerospace for peaceful purposes, promote the launch of negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and member countries of the Customs Union of Russia - Belarus - Kazakhstan, create favorable conditions for trade and investment, and realize the goal of increasing two-way trade turnover to 3 billion USD in 2012 and 10 billion USD in 2020...

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister also said that the two sides discussed specific directions and measures to enhance all aspects of bilateral cooperation, remove difficulties to promote the implementation of strategic cooperation projects, especially the project to build the first nuclear power plant in Vietnam.
