How rich is Putin really?
On paper, Russian President Vladimir Putin has only a modest net worth. But according to his opponents, he could be one of the richest men in the world.

Putin has submitted his official income declaration to the Election Commission ahead of the Russian presidential election scheduled for Sunday (March 18). According to the declaration, the Kremlin leader currently owns an apartment of more than 74 square meters.2In St. Petersburg, two cars from the old Soviet era, an off-road truck and a tractor-trailer.
Over the past six years, Mr. Putin has earned a total of 38.5 million rubles ($676,000) from his presidential salary, military pension, and interest on savings. He also has $243,000 in 13 different bank accounts.
"The figures released may seem modest given President Putin's current position, but they are consistent with his previous statistical reports," said Jason Bush, a senior analyst at the political consultancy Eurasia Group.
The Russian branch of Transparency International also confirmed that "there is currently no convincing evidence that President Putin's declarations are unreliable or incomplete"./.
