QK 4: Summary of national defense and security education work in 2013

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of December 10, under the chairmanship of Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong - Commander of the Military Region - Chairman of the Military Region's National Defense and Security Education Council, the Military Region's National Defense and Security Education Council held a conference to review the work of National Defense and Security Education in 2013 and deploy tasks for 2014.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong chaired the conference.

In 2013, the standing agencies of the National Defense Education Council at all levels coordinated with relevant agencies to do a good job of surveying and classifying to help the National Defense Education Council advise the Party Committee and authorities to provide training in national defense and security knowledge for the subjects in accordance with the content and program according to Circular No. 176/2010/176/TT-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense. The entire Military Region organized 1,166 training classes on national defense and security knowledge for 102,953 people, reaching 122% of the annual plan, an increase of 177 classes and 19,249 people compared to 2012.

The local National Defense Education Council has directed the Department of Education and Training, Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to closely coordinate with military and police agencies to seriously implement the National Defense Education program for students. In the 2013-2014 school year, 100% of high schools studied according to the program distribution, colleges and universities studied at the National Defense Education Center or at school according to the school's plan and approved by competent authorities. The Youth Union of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces coordinated with the provincial Military Command to organize 4 "Military Semester" classes, with 349 students participating.

Party committees, authorities, and National Defense Education Councils at all levels have paid attention to leading and directing the implementation of National Defense Education for all classes of people, considering this a regular task to orientate ideology and build people's hearts. Military agencies and local police have coordinated well with functional agencies to organize propaganda and education on mass media. Military regions and localities regularly maintain the columns National Defense for All People, For National Security, and Border Defense for All People on radio, television, and specialized pages in newspapers. In 2013, the entire Military Region has built 1,261 columns and reports; 4,034 news and articles broadcast on radio and television, and 360 specialized pages, 3,019 news, articles, and photos in central and local newspapers.
