QK4: Rally in response to National Week of Occupational Safety and Health - Fire Prevention and Fighting 2014

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 17, the Military Region 4 Command, representing the entire army, solemnly held a rally to respond to the 16th National Week of Occupational Safety - Hygiene - Fire Prevention and Fighting, 2014.

Delivering a speech at the rally, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong, Commander of Military Region 4, Head of the Steering Committee for the National Week of Occupational Safety - Hygiene - Fire Prevention and Fighting of the Military Region emphasized: Over the years, Military Region 4 has regularly improved and maintained a disciplined system of organizations and cadres working in labor protection and fire prevention and fighting according to the specialized and semi-specialized model from the Military Region to the grassroots units. Equipment serving to ensure safety work is always prioritized for investment and procurement; the system of warehouses and technical infrastructure is focused on investment, consolidation, renovation and upgrading. Fire prevention and fighting plans and options, combat to protect units are closely coordinated by units with local forces to maintain regular and effective practice.

Currently, 100% of the labor force in the units of the Military Region are fully equipped with personal protective equipment and ensure the correct and sufficient standards, compensation regime for heavy and toxic work, and special allowance regime for the subjects. To effectively implement the 16th National Week of Occupational Safety - Hygiene - Fire Prevention and Fighting in 2014, the Commander of the Military Region has directed agencies and units in the Military Region's Armed Forces to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the 6 solutions identified by the Military Region's Steering Committee.

Speaking at the rally, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Quang Khanh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, requested units to proactively develop and promulgate specific programs and action plans on occupational safety and health and fire prevention and fighting for each period and regularly inspect, guide and urge implementation. Deploy the development and organize the implementation of action plans and programs in response to the 16th National Week on Occupational Safety and Health and Fire Prevention and Fighting in 2014 with the theme "Thinking and acting for the goal of no occupational accidents, occupational diseases, fires and explosions at work", in conjunction with the emulation movement to win and campaigns in the Army. Raise awareness and responsibility of leaders and commanders at all levels in the education and propaganda work on occupational safety and health and fire prevention and fighting, especially those who directly command and manage workers and train new soldiers.

Strengthen the propaganda of labor safety culture and measures to prevent labor accidents, occupational diseases, and fires and explosions at the workplace. Strictly implement labor protection regulations and regimes, organize training activities well, improve working conditions and environment for workers. Carry out inspection and examination of the implementation of regulations of the State and the Ministry of National Defense on labor safety - hygiene - fire prevention and fighting, especially in industries and fields with high risks of labor accidents, occupational diseases and fires and explosions. Continue to closely coordinate with State agencies to effectively implement the National Program on labor safety and hygiene for the period 2011 - 2015...

At the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of National Defense and the Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs awarded the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to 7 groups under the Ministry of National Defense for their outstanding achievements in occupational safety and hygiene in 2013. On this occasion, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 groups and individuals with achievements in occupational safety and hygiene in 2013.

The 16th National Week of Occupational Safety and Health - Fire Prevention and Fighting 2014 of the Military Region ended in a vibrant atmosphere of competition with cultural and artistic activities, parades and marches of agencies and units under the Military Region; military branches and services under the Ministry of National Defense stationed in Nghe An province, Nghe An Provincial Police and the display of equipment, tools and images reflecting the activities of occupational safety and health - fire prevention and fighting of the Military Region 4.
