Vietnam army will join peacekeeping force
On the afternoon of February 25, in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, received Mr. Edmond Mulet, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, in charge of the United Nations peacekeeping agency.

At the reception, Mr. Edmond Mulet thanked Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh for taking the time to receive the delegation and informed him of the results of the work with the functional agencies of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh emphasized: The assistance, contributions, and sharing of experiences from the United Nations peacekeeping agency during the time and the comments of Mr. Edmond Mulet during this visit and work helped the Vietnam People's Army to do well in preparing some contents to participate in the United Nations peacekeeping force in early 2014.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh announced the training of staff officers, military doctors, engineers and officers on observer duty at the United Nations.
Mr. Edmond Mulet said that the UN peacekeeping agency will have a plan to discuss in detail with the Vietnam People's Army, and at the same time create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese side to send a delegation to directly visit a mission performing peacekeeping duties at the United Nations./.
