Military Region 4: More than 42,800 beneficiaries are entitled to benefits under Decision 62
(Baonghean.vn) -On June 21, the Military Region 4 Command held a conference to review 1 year of implementing policies and regimes for those who participated in the war to defend the Fatherland and performed international missions in Cambodia and Laos after April 30, 1975 and were demobilized, discharged, or quit their jobs according to Decision 62/2011/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. Major General Tran Tien Dung - Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region, Head of the Steering Committee of Military Region 24 chaired the conference.
According to survey data, in Military Region 4, there are 240,146 subjects handled by the Army. Currently, the Military Region and the provinces are focusing on handling the group of subjects with original documents and the group with related documents. The commune, ward and district levels are focusing on reviewing the files of the group without documents. With the motto of urgency, strictness, openness, democracy, and no mistakes, right from the implementation of Decision 62 of the Prime Minister, units and localities have done a good job of propaganda, organizing and thoroughly and promptly disseminating the Directives and Instructions of the superiors, the policies and plans of their level, and implementing them seriously, promptly and in accordance with regulations.
As of June 17, 2013, the Military Region has received 66,682 applications; the Ministry of National Defense has appraised 55,802 applications; the Military Region has issued decisions to grant one-time subsidies to 42,802 subjects (Thanh Hoa 12,978 subjects, Nghe An 10,766 subjects, Ha Tinh 6,638 subjects, Quang Binh 4,510 subjects, Quang Tri 4,560 subjects, Thua Thien Hue 3,350 subjects) with a payment amount of 186,189,700,000 VND.

The conference focused on discussing and pointing out the limitations and shortcomings in the process of reviewing and paying policies for the subjects; at the same time, determining the direction for the coming time. In which, it was determined to continue to promote propaganda work, focus on forces to speed up the progress of reviewing documents at all levels, especially at the district and provincial levels, to avoid errors and negativity. Strive to properly implement the Military Region's Plan, which is to complete the processing of subjects with related documents in the third quarter of 2013, and basically complete the review of documents in the second quarter of 2014 according to Decision 62 of the Prime Minister.
