Pro-Russian observers will be blocked from attending Ukraine's presidential election
According to German delegates, Kiev is trying to exclude from the vote politicians and activists with pro-Russian positions.
Ukraine has denied observer status to several representatives of the German "Left" party in the presidential elections. Sputnik writes about this, citing the leader of the Kvakenbrück parliamentary faction Andreas Maurer.
"The process of granting certificates to state and public observers is proceeding very slowly and painfully," he said.
According to Mr. Maurer, the Ukrainian side explained that some candidates were not granted permits because Kiev was concerned that among them there might be politicians and public figures with pro-Russian positions.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a law banning Russians from participating in the upcoming elections in the country as observers. In this regard, the Russian Foreign Ministry has filed a complaint with the OSCE.
