(Baonghean) - Nowadays, the number of young people leaving their hometown to work far away is increasing, so many localities lack cadres and especially local labor resources. Nghe An Newspaper had a conversation with comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union on solutions to support young people to feel secure in starting a business in their hometown.

- The issue of career, employment and career development for young people can be said to be a hot and urgent issue today. What is the reality in our province, comrade?

- Currently, in Nghe An in particular, a large number of young people are manual laborers, and there are also young people who have graduated from colleges and universities but cannot find jobs and have to leave their hometowns to start a business. However, working far away from home may not bring about the expected results. The number of young people working far away fluctuates greatly over time and space, so there is no specific number of Nghe An young people working far away. But through monthly visits, we see that there are youth union branches that gather 50-60 youth union members during Tet and holidays, but after Tet and holidays, there are only 5-10 people at home, and some youth union branches are even "empty" of youth union members. That shows that the rate of youth union members working far away is currently very large.

- There are many young people in rural areas in the province who want to stay in their hometown and develop the local economy. However, they face difficulties in orientation, starting a business, vocational training and job introduction... And even when they have the opportunity to establish themselves and start a business, they lack capital. What do you think about this issue?

- It is true that currently there are many young people who want to stay and start a business in the locality, but they lack information about careers, information about the market, and lack production capital. However, saying so does not mean that young people cannot access information or capital. In recent times, together with other functional sectors, our Youth Union has had many solutions to support and help young people establish themselves and start a business in the best way. The Provincial Youth Union has established a Youth Entrepreneurship Fund; coordinated with the Policy Bank to disburse loans to young people, with a total outstanding loan balance of nearly 600 billion VND, with over 25,000 young people receiving loans and support. The whole province currently has hundreds of models of young people with good economic development, earning over 50 million VND/year, many young people have won the Luong Dinh Cua Award for rural youth with good economic development. This is concrete evidence that the opportunities for young people to start a business and establish a career in the locality are also very large and not impossible to achieve. However, objectively, the ability of the Youth Union to respond is still limited compared to the needs of young people...

- So, how will the increasing number of young people working far away affect the work of gathering young people and building grassroots Youth Union organizations?

- That greatly affects the quality of organization, the quality of grassroots movements, as well as the participation in the implementation of revolutionary movements of the Union and political tasks in the locality. Due to the trend of many young union members going to work far away, currently, the village union branches are very short of young union members and there are frequent changes in the team of secretaries and deputy secretaries of the union branches. There are union branch secretaries elected today, but tomorrow they leave their hometown to work. In some places, for a certain period of time, there is a situation of "no" young union members or "no" union branch cadres. Sometimes there are people at home, but they do not have enough capacity, passion and ability to gather young people to be leaders of the grassroots Union.

- To support young union members to feel secure and have good conditions to do business and start a career right in their hometown, what solutions will the Provincial Union have in the coming time?

- Currently and in the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee has proposed a number of solutions to provide maximum support for youth union members to have good conditions to do business and start a business right in their hometown, specifically: Strengthening propaganda and communication work on careers and jobs for young people through continuing to effectively implement the project on communication on careers and jobs for young people approved by the Provincial People's Committee. Expanding the Provincial Youth Start-up Fund; encouraging and guiding Youth Union chapters at all levels to establish a Youth Start-up Support Fund at all levels to support young people to develop their economy more easily. Continuing to coordinate well with the Policy Bank and commercial banks to support young people to borrow preferential loans for production more widely and conveniently.

Promote the activities of the Youth Development Support Center to organize career counseling, vocational training and job placement, consulting, and labor export introduction for young people better and more widely. Continue to coordinate well with sectors to organize training courses on business start-ups, transfer of science and technology to young people... Coordinate with the Central Youth Union to implement the Border Youth Village Project; Youth Cooperatives. Finally, continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee and the Central Youth Union to have mechanisms and policies to support more widely and conveniently career and employment for young people, especially in signing contracts with investors in the province to recruit workers to work in industrial parks in Nghe An.

- Thank you very much for this conversation!
