(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of December 1, under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council conducted an examination of the report on the socio-economic performance in 2013 and the socio-economic development plan for 2014.

Participating in the inspection were comrades Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, member of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee: Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Do - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Hoang Viet Duong - Director of the Department of Finance.

At the inspection, the delegates clarified that, in the context of extreme difficulties, the recession continued to deepen and become more comprehensive, Nghe An still completed the basic targets, especially the GDP growth rate expected to reach 7%/7-8% of the plan; the budget revenue is estimated at 6,062 billion VND, equal to 108% of the estimate, up 6.5% over the same period. In addition, some delegates also expressed some concerns and suggested a more thorough assessment of 6/25 unachieved targets, especially 5 targets in the social sector; unsustainable economic development; the quality and effectiveness of national target programs; the development of trees and animals in mountainous areas and ethnic minorities is not high; the bad debt situation at credit institutions is high at 2.7%, an increase of 12.1% compared to 2012, which directly impacts the socio-economic situation in the province.

Delegates also discussed the socio-economic targets for 2014, including solutions to direct the implementation of 5 social targets not achieved in 2013; promote the construction of new rural areas; attract investment, along with the recovery of unimplemented projects in the area; environmental pollution from production and business establishments, and alluvial gold mining; the problem of farmers abandoning their fields; solving the problem of local surplus and shortage of teachers in each school; resources for hunger eradication and poverty reduction in mountainous districts and ethnic minority areas; duplicate cards and service quality for health insurance card users; resolutely directing the settlement of citizens' complaints and denunciations; administrative reform, raising awareness and responsibility of cadres and civil servants, avoiding harassment...

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council also reviewed the draft report on the program for building and promulgating Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council in 2014.
