Focus on replicating production, livestock breeding and disease control models
(Baonghean.vn) After inspecting the production situation in Tuong Duong, today, March 19, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the agricultural production situation in Ky Son and Con Cuong districts. Accompanying him were leaders of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
This spring crop, Ky Son district planted 220 hectares of rice, reaching 88% of the plan, planted 1,450 hectares of potatoes, cassava, 180 hectares of vegetables and beans, and 375 hectares of ginger. The total herd of buffaloes and cows in the district is currently over 42,000, and the poultry herd is over 108,000. The district has built many effective livestock models that bring high income such as raising cows in cages, raising black chickens, and combining agricultural and forestry models. Currently, in addition to focusing on directing farmers to take care of spring crops, Ky Son is making efforts to prevent opium replanting and forest fires.

In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation worked in Con Cuong district. In the spring crop of 2012, Con Cuong planted 1,765 hectares of rice, 1,158 hectares of corn, 408 hectares of peanuts, over 240 hectares of vegetables and especially 25 hectares of chili peppers for export. The whole district has over 36,800 buffaloes and cows, over 30,400 pigs, and built 59 farm-oriented livestock models. Thanks to good vaccination work, no epidemics occurred. Currently, the district is directing people to focus on taking care of spring crops and repairing the canal system to combat drought.
Concluding the inspection, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the efforts and results that Ky Son and Con Cuong had achieved in directing the implementation of the 2012 spring crop production. At the same time, he noted that these localities should continue to do a good job in directing the care of crops, strengthening the control of diseases on crops and livestock, focusing on expanding livestock models, developing a comprehensive economy to bring high income to the people. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the work of preventing natural disasters, storms and floods, proactively preventing forest fires in the area, etc.
