Finally, FourFourTwo has chosen the winner as Safawi Rasid of Malaysia. In 2017, Safawi Rasid played impressively for the U22 Malaysia team competing at the 29th SEA Games. Besides, at the club, Safawi Rasid also won the national championship.

Quang Hai's failure to win the title of best young player in Southeast Asia could be due to the achievement that midfielder wearing number 19 has just achieved in the Asian tournament calculated for 2018.
In other awards, Thailand's Chanathip Songkrasin was voted the best player in Southeast Asia. Chanathip Songkrasin surpassed Dinh Thanh Trung, Aung Thu, Teerasil Dangda and Andritany Ardhiyasa.
The Thai national team was honored in the category of "Team of the Year", beating two candidates Vietnam and the Philippines. The Thais also won the award for "Best Club of the Year", with the victory going to Buriram United.
In addition, coach Simon McMenemy led Bhayangkara FC to win the "Best Coach of the Year" award and striker Sylvano Comvalius was voted "Best Foreign Player of the Year".
