Quang Ngai province has just announced an outbreak of avian influenza (H5N1) in Son Tinh district. According to statistics from the Quang Ngai Provincial Veterinary Department in October 2011, avian influenza in Son Tinh district has strongly re-emerged with a total of about 20,000 sick and destroyed poultry and is still spreading widely.
The Provincial People's Committee requests that during the epidemic period, it is absolutely forbidden to buy, sell, transport, and slaughter poultry in Son Tinh.
