Quang Ninh hands over another modern fisheries surveillance ship

On July 30, in Quang Ninh, Ha Long Shipbuilding One Member Limited Liability Company organized the handover of the fisheries surveillance ship KN-782 to the Vietnam fisheries surveillance force.

The KN-782 ship is the most modern ship in Vietnam, built at Ha Long shipyard since October 20, 2012. The ship is 90.5m long, 14m wide, 7m high, and has a displacement of up to 2,500 tons.

The ship is equipped with four engines with a total capacity of 12,016 horsepower at 1,800 rpm combined with two variable pitch propellers allowing it to run at a maximum speed of 21 knots, with a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

The KN-782 has high mobility, a large capacity oil and fresh water tank system, a modern rescue and medical area, and other superior features, ensuring it will be an extremely effective means of patrolling, law enforcement, rescuing, and supporting fishermen in Vietnam's waters.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Thong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, said that building a strong fleet of fishing control vessels along with the coast guard force to regularly be present in the sea to enforce the law, firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands, and Vietnam's maritime interests, carry out search and rescue missions at sea, and serve as a solid support, support and protection for fishermen, helping fishermen feel secure at sea is extremely necessary and receives great attention from the Party and the State.

Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Deputy Director of the Fisheries Surveillance Department, said that the KN-782 fisheries surveillance ship will be a means of supporting fishermen when going out to sea. Together with the KN-781 fisheries surveillance ship that has been handed over and the system of other fisheries surveillance ships, it will help fishermen feel more secure when at sea.

Previously, on June 30, in Quang Ninh, Ha Long Shipbuilding One Member Limited Liability Company also organized the handover of the KN-781 fisheries surveillance ship (also the most modern ship in Vietnam) to the Vietnam fisheries surveillance force./.
