Vietnamese cameraman of The Amazing Race dies in Australia

Cameraman Quoc Huong was one of two people killed in a super light aircraft crash while filming for the 2016 Amazing Race program.

According to information from Australia, at about 3:30 pm on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Yarrawonga on the border of Victoria and New South Wales, an accident occurred with an Arrow ultralight aircraft. An airport spokesman believes that the Arrow was caught in a dust storm and this may have been the cause of the accident. Immediately after that, a film crew, police, ambulance and CFA volunteers were present at the scene but were unable to save the pilot and passengers. It is known that the pilot of this ultralight aircraft is a pilot who regularly operates in this airport area.

According to the organizers of the Amazing Race 2016, the passenger on the ultralight aircraft along with the local pilot was Mr. Quoc Huong, a member of the program's Australian filming crew. He was on the ultralight aircraft to practice and test the camera when the accident happened.

The organizers of the Amazing Race 2016 have sent their deepest condolences to the family of the Australian pilot and especially to Quoc Huong’s family for this great loss. Currently, the program’s organizers are working with Quoc Huong’s family and coordinating with relevant agencies to soon complete the necessary procedures and according to the family’s wishes./.
