Que Phong: 70 households participate in passion fruit growing training
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of July 10, the Rural Development Board of Que Phong district in collaboration with Nghe An NAFOOD Food Joint Stock Company organized a training course on techniques for planting, caring for, and harvesting passion fruit for 70 households in Tri Le and Nam Giai communes.
After 3 years of planting passion fruit in the border commune of Tri Le, considering that this is a plant that brings high economic benefits, on the same area it brings 3 times more income than rice, Que Phong district has a policy to expand the passion fruit planting model with an area of up to 27 hectares, mainly planted in 2 communes of Tri Le, Nam Giai and soon Nam Nhoong commune.
To achieve that plan target, since the beginning of 2013, Que Phong district has promoted and mobilized people to register to participate in planting passion fruit trees, and provided guidance on preparation work and technical procedures for planting passion fruit trees. In the coming time, Que Phong district will continue to replicate the model in some communes in the district./.
