Que Phong expands the area of Japonica rice variety
(Baonghean) -Japonica rice variety (Japan) has round grains, is cold-resistant, has a short growth period, has low to medium plant height, and is highly resistant to pests and diseases... suitable for high, cold areas.
In 2011, this rice variety was planted by Que Phong district on an area of 1.5 hectares in Tri Le commune. The results showed that the yield and quality were higher than other rice varieties (reaching 60 - 65 quintals/ha). This spring crop, the district continued to plant this rice variety on an area of 40 hectares in Muong Noc and Tri Le communes and 1 hectare in Que Son commune, in order to create varieties and gradually expand the planting area in the following crops.
