(Baonghean)After days of closing the valve of the diversion tunnel to officially store water in the reservoir, the water level of Hua Na Hydropower Dam has now reached 226m, expected to generate electricity in the fourth quarter of 2012. All 14 villages in the reservoir area with 1,361 households have been relocated to safe resettlement sites, and are gradually stabilizing in terms of infrastructure and life.
In early August, due to continuous rain in Que Phong, transportation was difficult, especially the roads leading to resettlement villages such as: Xop Co, Nam Nien, Huoi Siu - Huoi Lan, which is the resettlement site of Na Cang village (Thong Thu) and Huoi Muong village (Dong Van). The district leaders continuously organized inspections, visits, and listened to the aspirations of the people in the resettlement area.
Through sharing, Mr. Vi Van Quoc - Secretary of the Party cell of Huoi Siu village - Huoi Lan said: "The people's living conditions are relatively stable, electricity is fully supplied for daily life, most of the houses are solid and convenient. The only concern is that the subsidized rice has not been delivered on time, the water tanks are not enough for the households' daily life, some people's house foundations have collapsed due to heavy rain, and the most worrying thing is that when the new school year comes, in some resettlement areas, the schools have not been completed, the students may have to study under the stilt houses in the village..."
Faced with these difficulties, the district is focusing on directing the Flood and Storm Prevention Command Committees of Dong Van, Thong Thu, and Tien Phong communes to regularly monitor weather, meteorology, hydrology, and develop plans to prevent flash floods, landslides, and landslides, etc. to ensure safety for households in resettlement areas; quickly support rice, develop plans to divide and allocate forest land and production land, and support tree and animal breeds for households to stabilize their lives. District leaders, along with departments, branches, and organizations, have gone down to the villages to encourage cadres and people in the villages to overcome immediate difficulties, promote the spirit of solidarity to overcome difficulties together to gradually stabilize their lives, and request contractors to promptly complete school facilities and community cultural houses to ensure that 100% of children can go to school.
