Que Phong: Training on climate-smart agriculture
(Baonghean.vn) - SOn July 16, the Vietnam Forest and Delta Project organized a training course on "Climate-Smart Agriculture" for 35 trainees who are agricultural and forestry officers and agricultural extension officers from 14 communes and towns in Que Phong district.
At the training session, representatives of the Vietnam Forest and Delta Project shared the causes of climate change, the main impacts of climate change on agricultural production in Vietnam and Que Phong; From there, proposed measures to mitigate the effects of climate change in the agricultural sector called Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA).
During the 3 days, the trainees were trained and disseminated knowledge about climate-smart agriculture; Steps to analyze and select sustainable CSA models suitable for the climate and soil of Que Phong district.

After mastering the knowledge, the technical support staff will exchange and discuss with the trainees in groups in the form of questions and answers about CSA. Based on that knowledge, the trainees will also have access to effective CSA models such as the model of raising cattle combined with grass growing in Hung Nguyen; the model of improving rice cultivation in Thanh Hoa; or the model of preserving and developing bo bo trees in Que Phong.
The Climate Smart Agriculture Workshop is a part of the Forest and Delta Project's series of activities on climate change response for Vietnam's agricultural production.
