Que Phong organizes the Spring 2013 Field Festival

(Baonghean.vn) -After Tet, from February 18 to 19, farmers of all ethnic groups in Tri Le, Chau Kim, Quang Phong, Tien Phong communes (Que Phong district)... organized the Long Tong festival (Going to the fields festival) in an exciting atmosphere of competing in labor and production, promising a new year of abundant harvests.

According to the customs and practices of the ethnic groups in Que Phong district, every new year, after the Lunar New Year, at the beginning of a new crop, farmers bring offerings (sticky rice, chicken, moc songs, wine, etc.) to the high-yield fields to hold a ceremony. In addition to the ceremony, the festival is organized by the communes for cultural and artistic exchanges, performances of furrow carving, gong beating, boys and girls flirting, dating, etc. taking place in a joyful and exciting atmosphere.

At the Long Tong Festival, farmers heard the Commune People's Committee approve the 2013 production plan and assign production targets for villages to strive to achieve.
