Que Phong: Seminar on the 45th Anniversary of Implementing Uncle Ho's Testament

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 18, the Standing Committee of Que Phong District Party Committee held a seminar to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament and the 48th anniversary of the day Uncle Ho sent a letter of commendation to the people and cadres of all ethnic groups in Que Phong District (April 12, 1966). Attending the seminar were leaders of the district, commune, sectors, unions and generations of leaders of Que Phong District.

Over the past half century, since the establishment of the district, especially since receiving a letter of commendation from Uncle Ho, the Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in Que Phong district have promoted the spirit of solidarity, initiative, creativity, overcoming difficulties and achieved many important achievements, profoundly changing the appearance of the district. Up to now, Que Phong district has basically solved the need for food on the spot, the forest coverage rate has reached 76.4%, the highest in Nghe An province. Since 2011, the district has had asphalt roads to 14/14 communes and towns and in 2012, 14/14 communes and towns have used the national grid. Currently, the whole district has 21 schools meeting national standards. The poverty rate has decreased from 58.22% in 2009 to 41.18% in 2013.

Leaders of Que Phong district exchanged with the district's young generation on the sidelines of the discussion.

At the ceremony, delegates listened to a summary report on Uncle Ho's life, career and ideology; watched a documentary and a report by Que Phong on the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament, especially the letter Uncle Ho sent to visit and praise Que Phong. The author wrote:

I am very pleased to praise the people and cadres of all ethnic groups in the district for their efforts and successful completion of the 5-year plan for cultural education 1 year ahead of schedule. I hope that the people and cadres of the district will strive to achieve many achievements in increasing production, be ready to fight and continue studying to progress further, contributing worthily to the cause of fighting against the US to save the country of our entire people. I cordially send my regards to the elderly, teenagers and children. Warm greetings and victory.”

Uncle Ho's letter to Que Phong people is engraved in a stone statue and displayed at the district People's Committee.

Uncle Ho's will and letter sent to visit and praise Que Phong district received many discussions and 12 reports from typical units on implementing Uncle Ho's will and letter and studying and following his moral example. The contents that Uncle Ho left for the Vietnamese people from generation to generation will forever remain valuable.

At the seminar, delegates listened to the opinions of the sectors and units, reviewed the process of striving to implement President Ho Chi Minh's Testament and Letter in conjunction with the implementation of the political tasks of the sector and locality in the past time. The seminar also helped generations of cadres and people of Que Phong district to more deeply understand the ideological and spiritual value of Uncle Ho's Testament and Letter for the cause of construction and development of the district, together with the people of the whole country to continue to realize Uncle Ho's wish: "The whole Party and people unite and strive to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam...".
