The National Assembly of Vietnam and El Salvador strengthen cooperation
The Vietnamese National Assembly wishes to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences with the National Assembly of El Salvador.
At the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, on June 6, a high-ranking delegation of the El Salvadoran National Assembly led by Mr. Sigfrido Reyes, President of the National Assembly, began an official visit to Vietnam from June 6-11. This is the first visit by a high-ranking leader of El Salvador to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 2010.
On the afternoon of June 6, in Hanoi, right after the official welcoming ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung had talks with President of the National Assembly of El Salvador Sigfrido Reyes.
At the talks, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung warmly welcomed El Salvadoran National Assembly Chairman Sigfrido Reyes on his first official visit to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations and affirmed that the visit is an important milestone in promoting cooperation between the two countries and the two National Assemblies, contributing to connecting the two regions of Southeast Asia and Central America.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung informed the President of the National Assembly of El Salvador about Vietnam's socio-economic situation in recent times, especially economic reforms, investment attraction, economic restructuring, and business innovation.

Regarding foreign relations, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said that Vietnam always focuses on promoting cooperation with ASEAN countries, the EU, the Americas and countries around the world, including traditional friends in Latin America, with a policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization and international integration.
After announcing the innovations in legislative activities in Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung emphasized: The Vietnamese National Assembly wishes to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences with the National Assembly of El Salvador, actively participate and support each other at world and regional parliamentary forums.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung emphasized that the two countries' National Assemblies need to support the two governments in implementing cooperation policies to promote the two countries' economies because currently, two-way trade relations between Vietnam and El Salvador are still modest compared to each country's potential.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung hopes that the National Assembly and Government of El Salvador will support Vietnamese enterprises to expand their markets and do business in El Salvador and Central American countries. In return, Vietnam will support El Salvadoran enterprises to explore the Vietnamese market and the Southeast Asian region.
For his part, President of the National Assembly of El Salvador Sigfrido Reyes sincerely thanked President of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung for taking the time to receive the delegation and was pleased to return to Vietnam after 20 years in his new position as President of the National Assembly of El Salvador.

The President of the National Assembly of El Salvador expressed his admiration for the country and people of Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation as well as in the current national development. Not only wishing to learn more about the history of Vietnam, the visit of the National Assembly of El Salvador this time aims to learn and study the experiences in economic reform of Vietnam, the policies of the Vietnamese government in attracting investment, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty; as well as the desire to cooperate with Vietnam in other fields such as economics, technology, experience in growing tea and coffee.
The President of the National Assembly of El Salvador highly appreciated the role and position of Vietnam, as well as the Vietnamese National Assembly in the region and in the international arena, affirming that the trend of international integration is moving towards the Asia-Pacific region. The President of the National Assembly of El Salvador said that El Salvador's foreign policy is also moving towards this region, including Vietnam. El Salvador supports and assists Vietnam in expanding its cooperative relations with the Central American region, which has the largest oil and fresh water reserves in the world.
On this occasion, President of the National Assembly of El Salvador Sigfrido Reyes respectfully invited National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to visit El Salvador and believed that the visit would contribute to bringing the cooperative relationship between the two National Assemblies and the two countries to a new height./.
