US Congress to spend money to help three Baltic countries 'repel Russian aggression'

The US Congress has agreed on a draft defense budget for fiscal year 2018, which allows for the allocation of $4.6 billion for "countermeasures" against Russia in Europe.

Specifically, the documents published on the website of the US Senate Armed Services Committee approved $350 million in military aid to Kiev.

The funds could be allocated within the framework of the "Initiative to Support Ukraine in the Security Sector", which envisages providing Kiev with "lethal defensive weapons".

In addition, the draft budget has agreed to allocate 100 million USD to help the three Baltic countries of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia repel "Russian aggression".

At the same time, the US Senate in the draft defense budget approved for 2018 proposed to ban US distributors from putting on their networks "Russian nationalistic video content".
