According to TASS news agency on September 30, in an interview with Fox News, US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff said that the implementation of President Donald Trump's plan for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict could create momentum to help bring peace to other regions in the Middle East and also affect the resolution of the Ukraine crisis.

"President Trump wants peace in general. This applies not only to Gaza, but also to all other areas in the Middle East, and can even affect the conflict between Russia and Ukraine," said special envoy Steve Witkoff when commenting on the plan proposed by the US administration to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Special Envoy Witkoff added that President Donald Trump's initiative is supported by both Persian Gulf countries and European nations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed support for President Donald Trump's plan to end military action in the Gaza Strip, but noted that if the Palestinian Hamas movement rejects or sabotages the proposal, Israel will "finish the job itself."

"I support your plan to end the war in Gaza, which meets our military objectives. It will return all our hostages to Israel, strip Hamas of its military capabilities and political dominance, and ensure that Gaza will never again be a threat to Israel," Prime Minister Netanyahu said at a joint press conference with President Trump after a meeting at the White House on September 29.

"If Hamas rejects the plan or accepts it but basically does everything to oppose it, then Israel will finish the job itself," the Israeli prime minister added.

Mr Netanyahu said the US president's plan "is consistent with the five principles set by the Israeli government to end the war". "All hostages, both dead and alive, will immediately return home, Hamas will be disarmed, Gaza will be demilitarized, and Israel will maintain control of its security, including the security perimeter, for the foreseeable future," Mr Netanyahu said.

According to the Israeli prime minister, "Gaza will have a peaceful civil government, not controlled by Hamas or the Palestinian Authority."
