The National Assembly will dismiss the President, the National Assembly Chairman, and the Prime Minister this week.
Today (March 29), the 11th Session of the 14th National Assembly entered its second working week. In the final session of this term, the National Assembly completed the restructuring of 25 state positions, including the dismissal of President Nguyen Phu Trong, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the election of others to hold these positions.
Start the process of perfecting key positions of the State
According to the agenda, the first positions to be filled are Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Election Council.
Specifically, on March 30, the National Assembly Standing Committee submitted to the National Assembly the dismissal of National Assembly Chairwoman and Chairwoman of the National Election Council Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, as well as a list for the National Assembly to elect a person to hold this position. The new National Assembly Chairwoman will be sworn in on the morning of March 31.
During the two working days of the weekend, the National Assembly also dismissed Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

On April 2, the National Assembly Standing Committee presented a list of nominees for the National Assembly to elect the President. The vote count results were announced on the morning of April 5, after which the new President will take the oath of office.
After being elected, the President will present a list of nominees for the National Assembly to elect the Prime Minister and the new Prime Minister will take the oath of office in the afternoon of the same day.
Also at this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee submitted to the National Assembly the dismissal and election of a number of Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly. In this new term, all leaders of the National Assembly will not continue to participate, however, because the replacement personnel must be National Assembly Deputies, the position of Vice Chairmen will not be filled until July 2021, that is, after the election of the 15th National Assembly.
Similarly, since some members of the Government are expected to continue holding their current positions, the Prime Minister will only submit to the National Assembly for approval the dismissal and appointment of some Deputy Prime Ministers, some Ministers and other members of the Government.
The National Assembly discussed in the hall the work reports for the 2016-2021 term of the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the State Audit. The draft Law on Drug Prevention and Control (amended) will also be passed by the National Assembly.
The President will present to the National Assembly the dismissal of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and elect another person to hold this position.
The Standing Committee of the National Assembly submits to the National Assembly the dismissal and election of a number of members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairmen of a number of Committees of the National Assembly, Secretary General of the National Assembly, and State Auditor General.
The Chairman of the National Election Council submitted to the National Assembly for approval the dismissal of a number of Vice Chairmen and members of the National Election Council.
The President submitted to the National Assembly for approval the dismissal of the Vice President and a number of members of the National Defense and Security Council.
Key leaders leave many marks
The reports summarizing the work of the term as well as the discussions at the 11th Session of the 14th National Assembly all acknowledged the successful 5-year term with many marks of innovation, creativity and action. In particular, the position and role of President Nguyen Phu Trong, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the Prime Minister together with the collective leadership have excellently fulfilled the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
Reporting to the National Assembly, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that although there were changes in the personnel of the President during the term, and especially since the end of 2018, with the responsibility of General Secretary and President, at all times, the President has strived to fully and effectively perform his duties and powers as prescribed by the Constitution and laws, and is responsible to the Party, State, National Assembly and people.
In work and life, always strive to demonstrate responsibility, be exemplary, simple, close to the people, respect the people, wholeheartedly serve the Fatherland and the people, affirm the position of the highest leader of the Party, head of State, representing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in domestic and foreign affairs.
The President pays special attention to leading and directing the work of Party building and building a clean and strong political system, while being resolute, persistent and determined in the fight against corruption, waste and negativity, creating a great deterrent and warning, which is welcomed and highly appreciated by the people and supported by public opinion.

As the highest representative body of the people, the highest State power body, the 14th National Assembly had a successful term, excellently completing its tasks, with outstanding achievements and marks; continuing to be close to the people, with many innovations, improvements, and enhancements in quality and efficiency in all areas, legislative supervision, and decision on important issues of the country as well as parliamentary diplomacy activities.
The National Assembly deputies have always demonstrated their bravery, upheld their sense of responsibility towards voters and people; listened to and fully and promptly reflected the will and aspirations of the people; promoted their intelligence and contributed to the overall success of the National Assembly. Each National Assembly deputy, National Assembly delegation, and National Assembly agency has fulfilled their promise to voters, which is to act for the benefit of the people, for the benefit of the nation and people. The 14th National Assembly has left a solid foundation for the 15th and subsequent terms.
In the overall success of the National Assembly, according to delegates, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has made an impressive performance in her role as chair and director, especially in important meetings, to work with the collective to continuously innovate and make the National Assembly's activities more effective.
The National Assembly Chairman and Vice Chairmen regularly discuss and spend adequate time working with the Standing Committee of the Nationalities Council, Committees, ministries, branches and localities to grasp the situation and promptly give instructions; together with the National Assembly Standing Committee, scientifically and reasonably direct and regulate the activities of the Nationalities Council and Committees of the National Assembly as well as effectively supervise and guide the activities of the People's Councils of localities.
Meanwhile, the Government in general and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in particular have also left many marks in leading "the Vietnamese ship that had to overcome a stormy voyage with many difficulties and challenges greater than and beyond the initial expectations of the term" to achieve achievements in socio-economic development.
In the spirit of staying close to reality, the Government leaders have made 570 working trips "up the mountains, down to the sea" to work with localities, agencies, and grassroots units, giving specific instructions and promptly resolving many important and urgent issues. The Government has made every effort to perform its assigned functions, tasks, and powers, always closely following reality, correctly identifying the situation, seizing opportunities; and synchronously and effectively implementing solutions in all fields.
Upon taking office, the Prime Minister expressed his determination to build a creative, honest, active, and disciplined government. And as National Assembly deputies assessed, reviewing whether that promise has been put into practice or not, it can be seen that "The Prime Minister has matched his words with his actions. The leader has strongly inspired localities with the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility"./.
