According to analysts, this move by Israel is aimed at destabilizing the entire region.

Following accusations that the Syrian government used chemical weapons, Israel recently carried out airstrikes targeting the Syrian capital.

According to analysts, this move by Israel aims to create an external military intervention in Syria, destabilizing the entire region. Therefore, the international community continues to react to Israel's actions.

On May 6, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed concern that opportunities for external military intervention in Syria were increasing following Israel's airstrikes on the Syrian capital.

In a statement, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich emphasized that the escalation of armed confrontation increases the risk of creating new zones of tension and destabilizing the region. According to him, the internationalization of the internal conflict in Syria is unacceptable and is an alarming sign.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also called on the international community to take decisive action to steer events in Syria toward a peaceful course.

On the same day, China voiced its opposition to the use of force, calling on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could escalate tensions following Israel's airstrike on Syrian territory. Speaking at a regular press briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said: "We believe the current situation in the region is complex and sensitive. China opposes the use of military force and believes that the sovereignty of any country must be respected. China also calls on all relevant parties to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could escalate tensions in order to jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.”

The EU also expressed “deep concern about recent developments in and outside Syria,” warning of “the risk of plunging the region into a wider conflict” and calling on all parties to seek a political solution.

Meanwhile, the National Coordination Agency, the largest opposition organization inside Syria, condemned recent Israeli airstrikes on Damascus on May 6, accusing Tel Aviv of exploiting the situation in Syria for political purposes.

Speaking at a press conference in Damascus, Rajaa al-Nasser, a member of the Syrian National Coordination Agency, said that the agency would not “forgive” any Israeli aggression against Syrian territory: “This act of aggression is an act against the Syrian people and country. Those who support such aggression do not represent the will of the Syrian people. We call on the international community to make efforts to prevent Israel from exploiting the situation in Syria to achieve its goals.”

On the same day, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem affirmed that Syria has the right to retaliate against Israel after its military recently bombed Syrian military facilities in the capital Damascus. Walid al-Moallem stated that, “under international law and the UN Charter, Syria has the right to respond to Israeli aggression.”

Earlier that day, international public opinion continued to condemn Israel's airstrikes against Syria. The Arab League, Egypt, Iran, the UK, and others criticized Israel's actions as a blatant violation of international law, exacerbating the already dangerous situation in the Middle East.

Lebanon also stated that it would file a complaint with the United Nations Security Council regarding Israel's violation of Security Council Resolution 1701 after the latter repeatedly violated Lebanese airspace to attack Syria.
