Before the Lunar New Year of Tan Mao, our delegation crossed the forest to enter Xa Luong kindergarten (Tuong Duong district) in the middle of the gloomy forest. I witnessed the image of children wearing insufficient warm clothes in the bitter cold, but their faces lit up with joy when they saw the gifts that the delegation handed to their teachers.
Chau Phong Kindergarten (Quy Chau district) has 10 classes with 251 students. However, for many years, teachers and students here have been teaching and learning in a state of teaching without teaching and learning without teaching. The facilities are lacking, there are no chairs for the children, let alone equipment and toys. Ms. Vi Thi Phuc (principal) said: Chau Phong commune is in the district's 135 program, the population is large, mainly Thai ethnic group, so it is even more difficult to mobilize children to go to school. When we heard that the school would receive toys from the Provincial Children's Support Fund, we were very happy.

At Nam Thuong Kindergarten (Nam Dan District), the school principal, teacher Pham Thi Yen, said: The school has 60 students and 8 teachers. When there was no clean water project, many school activities encountered difficulties. Investing in a clean water project is the wish of the school, many parents and people in the commune.
Thanks to the cooperation of the Children's Protection Fund with the Vocational Training Center of Anh Son District and the Thanh Chuong District Youth Union, 60 children with especially difficult circumstances from Anh Son and Thanh Chuong districts were trained in sewing and brocade weaving. After learning the trade, the children were able to find jobs to earn extra income.
As part of a series of large social charity programs in previous years, in 2010, the BTTE Fund supported toys for 16 mountainous kindergartens worth 320 million VND. In addition, the Fund also donated toys and equipment worth 140 million VND to 7 kindergartens to share the difficulties of the schools that suffered damage in the recent historic floods. Also in the past year, 2 clean water projects worth 50 million VND sponsored by the Fund reached Nam Thuong kindergarten (Nam Dan district) and Chau Thang Primary School (Quy Chau district). In particular, through the sponsorship of Vincom Vietnam Joint Stock Company, the Fund supported the construction of 5 charity houses for families of 5 children in especially difficult circumstances, worth 100 million VND in Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong, Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, and Ky Son districts.
In 2011, the Children's Support Fund plans to provide toys to 20 preschools in disadvantaged mountainous areas. In addition, the Fund will also support the construction of 5 clean water facilities, 2 preschool clusters and 2 vocational training classes for children in difficult circumstances at the facility.
