Quy Chau: Mobile trial of 4 cases of drug trafficking and possession.

(Baonghean.vn) -In order to deter and at the same time serve as a warning bell to those who intend to trade and store drugs, on April 25, in Chau Nga commune - Quy Chau district, the district People's Court opened a mobile first-instance trial of 4 cases of illegal trading and storage of drugs.

Indictment 1: The Court sentenced Ha Van Xuan (born in 1981 in Pieng Diem village, Chau Phong commune) to 8 years in prison for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking". According to the indictment, on December 20, 2012, Ha Van Xuan went to Que Phong district to buy a package of heroin for 300,000 VND from a stranger, brought it home, divided it into many small packages and hid it at the foot of Pu Xen slope. Later, Vi Van Long and Vi Van Ty (in the village) came to ask to buy drugs, and Xuan agreed to sell 1 package to the two people for 100,000 VND. In addition to 8 years in prison, the Court sentenced the defendant Xuan to pay 250,000 VND in criminal proceeds to the state budget.

Indictment 2: The court sentenced Tran Van Phuc (1967), from Ke Khoang village, Chau Binh commune (Quy Chau) for "Illegal possession of narcotics", sentencing Tran Van Phuc to 3 years and 6 months in prison from the date of arrest (January 14, 2013). Previously, on January 10, 2013, the defendant went to Chau Kim commune (Que Phong) to buy a block of heroin from an unidentified man for 900,000 VND. Then the defendant took a taxi to Kim Son town and then took a van home. On January 14, 2013, the defendant took the heroin out and divided it into 4 small packages and put them in his pants pocket. On the way to Que Phong, he was checked and arrested by the traffic control patrol team 1-48 (Nghe An province police). After searching his body, the working group seized 1.045 grams of heroin and handed him and the evidence over to the investigation agency of Quy Chau district police for handling. It is known that in 2000, Phuc was sentenced to 5 months in prison by the Nghi Loc district People's Court for the crime of "Confiscating property obtained by others through criminal acts".

Indictment 3:The court sentenced Lang Phi Diep (born 1992), in Ta Soi village, Chau Hanh commune, for "Illegal possession of narcotics". Previously, at 9:00 p.m. on December 12, 2012, at km 12+250, National Highway 48a (in Chau Thang commune (Quy Chau). The Quy Chau district police task force discovered a suspicious motorbike signaling to stop, Diep ran away and threw a leather wallet on the road but was stopped by the police. After checking the wallet, the task force found a white powder package wrapped in a plastic bag. Diep stated that it was heroin and bought it from an unidentified man in Muong Noc commune (Que Phong). Regarding his previous convictions, in 2009, Diep was sentenced by the People's Court of Quy Chau district to 9 months in prison for receiving property obtained by others through crime.

Indictment 4: The court sentenced Tran Van Than, born in 1987, in Hanh Tien village, Chau Hanh commune (Quy Chau) for "illegally buying, selling and storing narcotics", and sentenced Tran Van Than to 5 years in prison. According to the indictment, on March 1, 2013, Than went to Que Phong district, then rented a car to go to Muong Man village, Muong Noc commune to buy a block of heroin for 2 million VND from an unknown person. Then Than took a van home and divided it into 6 small pieces. Than sold it to Nguyen Manh Hieu and Vi Van Hung (Chau Hoi commune), each one piece for 100,000 VND.

On the morning of March 2, Than continued to sell another pack of heroin to Vi Van Anh (Chau Hoi commune). After buying the heroin, Vi Van Anh took it to Khe Ban Bridge (1km from Than's house) to inject it. He was arrested by the Quy Chau District Police task force. He confessed to buying it from Tran Van Than. On the afternoon of January 3, 2013, while searching Than's house, the Quy Chau District Police task force also seized a pack of heroin weighing 089gm and a pack in Tran Van Than's pants pocket. Due to his contribution in reporting to the police to arrest the criminal earlier, the court applied Article 147 of the Penal Code and sentenced Tran Van Than to 5 years in prison.

The trial of the right person, right crime, and right law in the four cases mentioned above has received the support and consensus of the masses. This is also a lesson for people to stay away from the white substance that the whole society is fighting to eliminate.
