Regulations on exemption from foreign language exam in high school graduation exam in 2015
On the morning of October 17, the Ministry of Education and Training announced regulations on exemption from foreign language exams in the 2015 high school graduation exam.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that while waiting for the promulgation of regulations for the 2015 national high school exam, the ministry announced this regulation.
Accordingly, in the coming years, the foreign language exam must be consistent with the current subject program (studying for 7 years of school) so it requires the corresponding capacity of level 2, 6-level Vietnamese framework, equivalent to A2, European reference framework.
In the following years, students will study the 10-year program, the exam will require level 3 competency, 6-level Vietnamese framework, equivalent to B1, European reference framework.
In the 2015 exam, foreign language exam exemption will be applied for candidates who wish to and meet one of the following conditions:
- Participate in the International Foreign Language Olympic Competition according to the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- Have one of the following certificates that is still valid as of the exam date (June 9, 2015):

Exemption from foreign language exams for admission to universities and colleges is decided and announced by universities and colleges. Candidates need to follow the admission information of the schools to know and implement.
The Ministry of Education and Training also said that the regulations for the national high school exam will specifically stipulate exemption from foreign language exams. At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Training requested the Departments of Education and Training, the Department of Schools (Ministry of National Defense); universities, academies, colleges and universities to promptly notify the above contents to units under their management and to learners for implementation.
Previously, on September 9, 2014, the Minister of Education and Training issued a Decision approving the plan for high school graduation exams and university and college admissions from 2015. Accordingly, candidates with foreign language certificates according to regulations announced by the Ministry of Education and Training will be exempted from the high school graduation exam in foreign languages.
