New Government regulations on water supply and drainage planning

Decree No. 98/2019/ND-CP amending and supplementing Decree No. 117/2007/ND-CP dated July 11, 2007 of the Government on production, supply and consumption of clean water, including amending the subject of water supply planning.
The contents of water supply planning are determined in regional planning, provincial planning, construction planning and urban and rural system planning. Urban water supply planning is organized as a separate planning project for centrally-run cities.
Decree No. 98/2019/ND-CP amends and supplements regulations on responsibility for preparation, time and authority for appraisal and approval of tasks and urban water supply planning projects in Article 26 of Decree No. 117/2007/ND-CP.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of a centrally-run city is responsible for organizing the preparation of tasks and urban water supply planning projects within the administrative boundaries under its management.
The time for appraising tasks and urban water supply planning projects shall not exceed 20 working days, the time for approving tasks and urban water supply planning projects shall not exceed 15 working days from the date of receiving complete and valid documents as prescribed.
